NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF ADMINISTRATIVE PROFESSIONALS

Advancing the Administrative Profession Nationwide

The National Institute of Administrative Professionals (NIAP) is a 501(c)(6) professional association dedicated to supporting, standardizing, and advancing the administrative career field across the United States. We provide resources, career guidance, and educational alignment designed to strengthen the profession at every stage.

NIAP was established to lead the future

Administrative professionals serve as the backbone of organizations across every industry. Yet the field has long lacked standardized career pathways, consistent terminology, and nationally aligned education. NIAP was established to fill that gap by creating clear professional standards and advancing recognition for the vital role administrative professionals play. Through nationally aligned, accredited education programs, NIAP ensures that learners receive high-quality, credible training that meets recognized academic and professional benchmarks.

Why This Community Matters

The administrative profession includes over four million professionals in the United States. Despite its size and influence, it remains one of the least standardized career fields.
Without defined pathways and aligned education:
Early-carer professionals lack direction
Employers lack consistent role definitions
Advancement depends on circumstance rather than structure
NIAP exists to create a defined professional framework that supports both individuals and organizations.

Our long-term goal is national recognition of administrative career standards comparable to other established professional support fields.

Leadership behind NIAP

NIAP was founded by experienced administrative leaders who understand the profession from the inside.
